Cookbook Giveaway!

Food From My Frontier

Blog | February 15, 2012 | By

Anyone who has surfed my website or read my blogs surely knows by now that I am a huge fan of The Pioneer Woman, aka Ree Drummond.  And just in case you haven’t noticed (or you just arrived from Planet Mars), she has a new show on The Food Network as well as a new cookbook coming out in March.  I have pre-ordered my copy of Food From My Frontier and I’m really looking forward to her new collection of recipes.

Ree is from the  heartland and actually lives in close proximity to the place where my Mother grew up. We both love the same kind of food, some of it healthy and wholesome, some not so much. But it is always, in my mind anyway, as delicious as it is comforting to the soul.  I have no doubt that I will love this addition to my somewhat extensive collection of cookbooks and I think you will too.

Want a copy of The Pioneer Woman’s new cookbook for free? Just follow the rules below and a winner will be chosen at random by noon this Sunday (02/19/2012)!

1. Tell me where you are finding your favorite new recipes these days. Are they from a cookbook that is your tried and true go to? Are you having good luck on food blogs (like mine and so many others) or on The Food Network Website? What about Pinterest? Are you a regular visitor to Foodbuzz and Tasty Kitchen? I really want to know and would love to hear your feedback.  Leave a comment at the bottom of my blog today and you’re in the running.

2. All entries must either subscribe to my site or “Like” MMD on Facebook. You’ll find both options on my home page.  Tell me in your comment which option you’ve chosen.

3. If you’ve already subscribed and/or you’re already a Facebook follower no worries. You can enter by simply leaving a comment below to be entered in the contest. Just be sure to let me know in your comment that you’re already a follower.

To be clear, The Pioneer Woman wouldn’t know yours truly if we ran smack into each other on the street.  I’m just a fan who happens to think my Oklahoma Girl rocks!

I’m sorry Tracy but the contest ended yesterday. Anna, a new subscriber won the cookbook, but don’t worry…I’m going to be running more contests and will most likely give away another PW cookbook. I had so much fun doing this, in fact, let me know if you have some good ideas for future giveaways. And thank you for subscribing!

I obtain many recipes from cookbooks. I look for healthy recipes in cookbooks. Right now, I am reading The Biggest Loser Quick & Easy Cookbook. I like using allrecipes.com. I really like searching for recipes, and then reading the feedback.
I am a new email subscriber to your blog.

I seem to be picking up some good recipes from EatingWell’s site of late. But mostly I’m in love with my cookbooks.

Most of the time I find my recipes on food blogs – I look for great pictures that look good and I try them. I also use the library a lot for cookbooks and my favorite now is Julia Child Baking – always have great luck with her things.

Most of the recipes I have tried have been from the internet and Southern Living cookbooks. Food Network has been my go to for sometime but I am now finding more blogs such as MMD, Foodbuzz and tasty kitchen that have some interesting and tasty looking recipes. The oven baked bbq turkey and pork loin stuffed with swiss chard are on my bucket list. Thank you for introducing me to your blog and FB

I surf the web. Finding recipes from your site and others such as Food Tv and Epicurious. I also have a few cookbooks that I go to for reliable meal outcomes. I have one book in particular that was my grandmothers and I am constantly going to that for desserts that I make for certain events and family gatherings. I love trying new ideas yet I have to make sure that it will go over with my family.

I love to get recipes from everywhere. I’ve gotten some really good ones from Pioneer Woman’s blog as well as the Food Network. I love cookbooks and they’re my favorite place though. Right now some of the ones I’m enjoying cooking from are Sara Foster’s Southern Kitchen, Malto Mario, Anne Burell’s Cook Like a Rock Star, and Tupelo Honey Cafe.

I like to get my recipes from all over the place – everything from professionally developed recipes from cookbooks to recipes devised by ‘normal’ people on Pinterest. I get a great variety of food this way 🙂

Most of the recipes that have really scored with my family have been coming from your website, friends and lately I have been revisiting some old family favorites from the cookbook that my Mom put together and sent to us for Christmas this year.
